This is our story
Duane and Beth Kanagy of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, created Kanagy Communications in early 2019 to help small business owners increase awareness of what they have to offer their past, current and future customers. This is done by creating a plan to expand and improve how a business communicates with those who want and need their products and services.
Duane has worked in business communications with credit unions and electric cooperatives for over 30 years. He started his career as a newspaper editor after obtaining degrees in Journalism and Humanities (mass media concentration). Duane has served on a variety of community boards in the Gettysburg area. In April 2019, he retired as manager of communications/community services with Adams Electric Cooperative, Inc., after 24 years of service to concentrate full time on Kanagy Communications. He serves as a communications consultant with Adams Electric.
Beth has been an active communications professional for nearly 35 years; as a journalist, public relations practitioner and adjunct faculty member in communications/journalism at Shippensburg University. She holds a a bachelor's and a master's degree in communications from Shippensburg and continues to write for the Gettysburg Times newspaper. She also taught speech courses at Harrisburg Area Community College-Gettysburg Campus and worked as public relations director for the Gettysburg Area School District.
